Job Description The Kraft Heinz Company is currently seeking a Mechanic to work at our food processing facility in Lowville, NY. Successful candidates must be willing to supply improvements suggestions and ideas to help continue the success of our facility. Ideal candidates must be safety and quality orientated along with demonstrate adaptability and willingness to work in a team orientated, fast paced work environment. This position requires individuals to perform general production duties in a food manufacturing environment following strict quality and safety standards. - $31.46-$35.28/hr
- A $1.00 shift differential for second or and $1.25 shift differential for third shift.
- Successful completion of all required periodic plant and job-specific training
- Perform Preventative Maintenance tasks on time as assigned by maintenance planners.
- Participation as an active member in the PSM Team
- Ability and knowledge to work on plant ammonia system
- Ability to perform advanced machine tool operations
- Ability to perform mechanical troubleshooting
- Ability to rebuild cream cheese mix separators
- Perform general repairs on plant boilers
- Knowledge of HTST operation and control & processing equipment.
- Solid understanding and demonstrated ability to work on the Plant’s HVAC system
- Working knowledge of the operation of the evaporator
- Must have the interpersonal skills to work with other mechanics, electricians, supervisors and production/sanitation personnel
- Must be willing to attend training seminars as necessary to fulfill the plant’s needs as a maintenance mechanic
- Basic electrical knowledge for troubleshooting
- It is the responsibility of all employees to adhere to all site rules, and to all ways of working, and processes and procedures within that role
- Position requires compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Timely Period Work completion.
- Team participation is required.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Able to work on all shifts, weekend and Holiday work will be required
- A Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent experience or general education diploma (GED)
- Qualifications to be considered for this position include attendance, prior experience and/or education and past job performance
- Must have strong communication skills
- Prior manufacturing experience is preferred
