Job Summary

We're looking for an exceptional educator to join our high school faculty as a Long Term Substitute Teacher for British Literature classes. This full-time assignment is expected to begin immediately and last from 12 weeks to the end of the Fall semester. As a Chaminade faculty member, you'll be part of a collaborative team that integrates technology into the classroom, promotes student-centered learning, and strives for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach British Literature to high school students, developing and implementing engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs.
• Utilize technology to enhance student learning, incorporating digital tools and resources into the classroom.
• Assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to ensure academic success.
• Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting respect, empathy, and social responsibility.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the overall mission of the school.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and other school events as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

Essential Qualifications

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related discipline.
• Prior teaching experience, preferably in a Catholic educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of British Literature and ability to teach complex literary concepts.
• Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to integrate technology into the classroom and adapt to new teaching methods.

Preferred Qualifications

• A master's degree in English, Education, or a related discipline.
• Teaching certification or credential in the subject area.
• Experience with curriculum development and implementation.

Compensation and Benefits
