Key Responsibilities

As a Full Stack Data Scientist at Yahoo Money, you will be responsible for: * Examining client needs and identifying pain points, joy points, and areas for improvement through analysis, behavior, clicks, conversions, channels, and other metrics. * Building models to gain insights on what drives performance in terms of reach, retention, referral, and revenue growth. * Creating dashboards and reports that provide analysis and insights, explaining product, marketing, and business trends for senior leadership. * Illuminating and updating leaders and partners on product performance, plans, and progress towards key metrics. * Defining data testing plans and developing strategies that help teams iterate quickly and deliver new features for testing and, if successful, rollout to all users globally. * Focusing the product roadmap on achieving key metrics and making ruthless decisions about what to do (and just as importantly, what not to do). * Creating and diving deep on customer experiences and competitive knowledge to help teams drive product development and lifecycle. * Assisting teams in understanding and integrating customer insights, decisions, and preferences – and how these impact the product/testing roadmap to drive growth. * Building strong relationships with product, design, engineering, and marketing teams and empowering them to launch new development initiatives for testing and emphasis. * Providing input to product and engineering teams on the impact of product launches: target launch metrics, A/B testing, post-launch metrics. * Distilling all metrics from measurably significant deviations that will impact reach, retention, referral, and revenue metrics. * Researching data and monitoring data quality – partnering closely with and providing requirements to the Data Engineering teams that can be acted upon. * Outlining business issues into questions that can be answered through data analysis, and translating business needs into requirements. * Planning and leading time-sensitive key analysis projects including philosophy development, analysis, key recommendations, and presentation of findings to Senior Leadership.

Essential Qualifications

* Mastery in Python and SQL * BS/MS in a highly quantitative field (Software Engineering, Statistics, Math, Research, Data Science) * Experience working in the financial industry * Data analysis, producing insights for customer-centric organizations * Knowledge of query development and data ETL * Experience with big data technologies like Hive, Hadoop, MapReduce, Flash, etc. * AI skills, including cluster analysis, brain networks, predictive modeling * Experience using Statistical methods including correlation analysis, design of experiments, linear and nonlinear regression, calculated regression, inspecting and resampling techniques, time series, and longitudinal analysis. * Huge experience, capability in, and enthusiasm for Mobile or potentially Web products * History of proactively setting and completing responsibilities. * A mix of customer experiences, competitive insight, and technical knowledge * Shown use of analysis, metrics, and benchmarking to drive decisions * Phenomenal relational, hierarchical, innovative, and communication skills * Collaborative person in driving growth results combined with an optimistic attitude * Strong work ethic and strong guiding principles (integrity, honesty, creativity) * Issue solver who thinks constantly about ways of moving forward * Self-motivated, results-driven, and team-oriented leader * Executioner customer instincts and data sensibilities * Shown progress in past roles * Enthusiasm for Yahoo and cool products

* Experience with cloud-based technologies and platforms * Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques * Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and techniques * Experience with agile development methodologies * Strong understanding of software development life cycles * Experience with DevOps practices and tools * Strong understanding of cloud security best practices * Experience with containerization and orchestration tools * Strong understanding of cloud cost optimization strategies
