About the Data Platform Team

The Data Platform team at Netflix is responsible for empowering our business stakeholders to make data-driven decisions. We build and maintain a unified data platform that provides our microservices with the ability to store, consume, and manage their data efficiently. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain large-scale distributed systems that meet the needs of our business stakeholders
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
• Develop and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant, and highly available distributed systems
• Participate in the development of our data platform, including data processing, storage, and analytics
• Work closely with our engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of our data platform with Netflix's microservices
• Contribute to the open-source community and share our experiences with the industry
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in distributed systems and data engineering

Essential Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems or applications
• Proficiency in designing and developing RESTful web services
• Experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, and highly available distributed systems
• Strong knowledge of Java or other object-oriented programming languages
• Experience with multi-threading and concurrency
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud-native technologies, such as AWS or GCP
• Knowledge of containerization technologies, such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Experience with data processing frameworks, such as Apache Spark or Flink
• Familiarity with data storage solutions, such as relational databases or NoSQL databases
• Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git
