Responsibilities

As a Website Chat Support Agent, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Provide prompt and courteous customer service to customers who come to a company's website with inquiries.
  • Utilize a pre-written document with answers to the most commonly asked questions to assist customers.
  • Escalate complex issues to your supervisor for resolution.
  • Manage multiple chat conversations simultaneously.
  • Meet or exceed productivity and quality standards.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Be available to work at least 20 hours per week.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple chat conversations simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to escalate complex issues to your supervisor
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of social media and website chat functions
  • Reliable internet connection and a device that can access social media and website chat functions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field preferred

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Previous customer service experience, either in-person or online
  • Experience working in a call center or chat support environment
  • Knowledge of e-commerce and online businesses
  • Familiarity with CRM software and other customer service tools
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
