Job Summary: Director of Sales (Cross OpCo Reorg)

As a Director of Sales at FedEx, you will play a pivotal role in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling sales activities to achieve revenue goals within an assigned district/region or on an account basis. You will lead a team of sales managers, professionals, and support staff, providing guidance, training, coaching, and performance evaluation to ensure success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market share
  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of sales managers, professionals, and support staff to ensure alignment with company goals
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform sales strategies and tactics
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and finance, to drive business growth
  • Develop and manage sales budgets, forecasts, and reports to ensure accurate tracking and analysis
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, expanding FedEx's presence in existing and new markets

Requirements and Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; advanced degree preferred
  • Significant professional experience in commercial/industrial sales, with a proven track record of success
  • Minimum 3 years of field sales line management experience, with a focus on recruiting and building a sales organization
  • Excellent human relations, communication, and leadership skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience in data analysis and interpretation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or advanced degree in business, marketing, or a related field
  • Experience in the transportation or logistics industry, with knowledge of industry trends and regulations
  • Proven experience in managing and developing high-performing sales teams
  • Strong understanding of sales performance metrics, including revenue growth, customer acquisition, and sales efficiency
