Role Snapshot

  • Position: Legal Billing Manager - Global Team Leader
  • Compensation: Competitive salary ($200,000 - $220,000 per year, commensurate with experience)
  • Location: Hybrid work arrangement (2 days in office, Manhattan, NY)
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM EST
  • Start Date: Immediate openings available

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Legal Billing Manager to lead our global billing team. The successful candidate will have at least 10 years of overall legal billing experience, with a majority of that being in a management level role or title. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in utilizing Aderant or Elite 3E billing, coding, and invoicing accounting software, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a strong global billing team for a global law firm, ensuring optimal day-to-day operations of department functions
  • Develop and maintain local and global departmental workflow processes, goals, and supporting objectives for assigned staff
  • Provide problem-solving guidance and resolution on a global basis, analyzing reports to determine trends and facilitate effective billing and collections strategies
  • Meet with partners as needed to discuss goals/objectives, issues, and provide updates on billing and client analysis projects
  • Review outstanding balance reports and implement strategies to optimize billing and collections
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, making recommendations for process improvements and enhancements

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 10+ years of legal billing work experience, with at least 5 years of management level experience or title
  • Experience utilizing Aderant or Elite 3E billing, coding, and invoicing accounting software
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with partners, clients, and team members
  • Proven track record of success in leading a global billing team and implementing effective billing strategies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a hybrid or remote work environment
  • Familiarity with other billing software and systems
  • Certifications or specialized training in legal billing or accounting
