Key Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate composition courses to international undergraduate students in the ESL/EAP Program
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, assessments, and evaluations to promote student learning and success
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to students, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement programmatic initiatives and curriculum development
  • Participate in departmental meetings, events, and professional development opportunities

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, applicants must possess:

  • An MA degree or equivalent education and experience in a related field (e.g., linguistics, education, English)
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness, including a formal letter of application detailing relevant qualifications and experience
  • A curriculum vitae with three professional references listed
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and faculty

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience teaching ESL/EAP courses or working with international students
  • Familiarity with curriculum design and development, assessment, and evaluation
  • Knowledge of second language acquisition theories and methodologies
