Job Summary

As a Data Scientist at Amazon, you will be responsible for driving business growth through data-driven insights and recommendations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement, develop and implement data-driven solutions, and communicate insights and recommendations to business stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from data entry and complex business changes to end-client reporting and more.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with scientists, software engineers, and business leaders to define business processes and provide analytical support
• Influence code to investigate complex datasets and design, develop, and evaluate data transformations to solve specific business problems
• Build flexible, efficient, and automated data pipelines to facilitate client-facing reporting
• Automate Talent Acquisition (TA) processes to streamline business operations
• Communicate verbally or in writing to business clients/leadership to share insights and recommendations
• Develop and maintain large-scale data systems and architectures
• Work with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop data-driven solutions
• Design and implement A/B testing and experimentation frameworks
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to communicate insights to stakeholders

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science
• 3+ years of experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), or statistical/numerical programming (e.g., R, SAS, Matlab, etc.)
• 3+ years of experience with machine learning/statistical modeling, data analysis tools and techniques, and frameworks that influence their performance
• Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate degree in a quantitative field, such as statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science
• Experience in a machine learning or data scientist role with a large technology organization
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
• Experience with programming languages, such as Java or C++
