Key Responsibilities
- Teach students in grades K-12 using Mathnasium's customized learning plans, tailored to their individual needs and abilities.
- Assist students with homework completion, ensuring they understand and apply mathematical concepts to real-world problems.
- Develop and maintain a supportive and engaging learning environment that encourages students to ask questions, explore, and learn.
- Participate in paid training to familiarize yourself with Mathnasium's curriculum, teaching strategies, and team teaching methodologies.
- Work collaboratively with other instructors to share best practices, discuss student progress, and continuously improve our teaching methods.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, providing regular updates to parents and guardians.
- Contribute to the overall success of our Mathnasium center, participating in events, and promoting our programs to the local community.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To succeed as a Math Teacher/Tutor at Mathnasium, you will need:
- Strong math proficiency up to Algebra; proficiency through Geometry and Calculus is preferred.
- Exceptional score on Mathnasium's Math Literacy exam, demonstrating your mastery of math concepts from 2nd grade and up.
- Availability to work at least 2 weekday shifts (3-4 hours per shift) in the afternoons after 3 pm.
- A clear record on state and national background checks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- A passion for teaching and a commitment to helping students achieve their full potential.
Preferred Qualifications
