Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented remote data entry clerk to join our team. As a key member of our data management team, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently entering data into our digital database from various sources, including paper formats and customer-provided information. Your strong typing skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills will enable you to provide exceptional customer service and support to our team.

Responsibilities

  • Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners
  • Type in data provided directly from customers, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
  • Create spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes, utilizing your knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Verify data by comparing it to source documents, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our digital database
  • Update existing data, ensuring that our database remains up-to-date and accurate
  • Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested, providing timely and efficient support to our team
  • Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation and prevent loss
  • Sort and organize paperwork after entering data, ensuring that it is not lost or misplaced

Requirements and Skills

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following essential skills and qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a data entry clerk, with a strong track record of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Fast typing skills, with knowledge of the touch typing system strongly preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices
  • Basic understanding of databases and data management principles
  • Good command of English, both oral and written, and excellent customer service skills
  • Great attention to detail and ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • High school degree or equivalent, with a strong educational background in a related field
