Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Building Nurse to provide essential health services to students at Oakland Education Center. As a Building Nurse, you will be responsible for administering medications, providing first aid services, maintaining health records, and performing other duties as assigned. Key Responsibilities:

• Student Health Services: Provide routine and emergency medical care to students, including administering medications, providing first aid services, and managing health records.
• Health Education: Collaborate with teachers and other education professionals to develop and implement health education programs that promote healthy habits and lifestyles.
• Communication: Communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and coordination.
• Health Record Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records, including student medical histories, immunization records, and medication administration records.
• Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies and provide basic life support as needed.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and other support staff to identify and address student health needs.

Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma required; graduate of an accredited school of professional or practical nursing preferred.
• Licensure: Current Minnesota RN or LPN licensure required.
• Certification: Certification in CPR and basic First Aid required.
• Experience: Previous experience in school nursing or a related field preferred.
• Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with students, parents, and education professionals.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Electronic Health Records: Experience with electronic health record systems preferred.
• Health Education: Experience in health education and promotion preferred.
• Leadership: Experience in leadership or supervisory roles preferred.
