Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Data Entry Clerk, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Transferring data from paper formats, recorders, or scanners into computer databases, records, and files
  • Entering data into appropriate fields, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
  • Handling numerical data accurately, creating spreadsheets, and organizing large numbers
  • Curating data directly from speech or interviews, and updating databases or records with new information
  • Correcting and modifying inaccurate files and records, and typing data directly and accurately
  • Complying with security backups and regular checks to ensure data is saved and stored properly
  • Summarizing data for standardized reports, and viewing and verifying confidential or private customer/client information
  • Verifying data by correctly checking and comparing source documentation, and organizing paper formats, paper backups, and material source files as needed

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • High school diploma; associate's degree, or bachelor's degree in business, administration, or a related field (preferred but not required)
  • Prior experience handling data entry responsibilities or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Highly organized multitasker with excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Fast and accurate typist with a strong attention to detail
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel spreadsheets
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to speak confidently, clearly, and professionally
  • Willingness to learn and grow with the company, and self-directed with the ability to work without supervision

Preferred Skills and Competencies

While not required, the following skills and competencies are highly desirable:

  • Knowledge of touch typing system
  • Experience with data confidentiality principles and practices
  • Skilled knowledge in generating process documentation
