The Lead Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing the digital marketing strategy for Disney Publishing (Hyperion, Hyperion Avenue, and National Geographic) across print and digital formats. Working alongside the Marketing Managers, the Lead Digital Marketing Manager will drive growth and product discoverability across ecommerce, social media, and SEO through metadata optimization, improved paid media strategies, and website management. The Lead Digital Marketing Manager reports directly to the Director, Marketing Content Strategy. This is a Full-Time role based in New York

What You Will Do

  • Develop and manage digital marketing strategies across e-commerce platforms and owned channels, including social media, email, website, and other digital platforms.
  • Provide strategic oversight for e-commerce growth, email marketing, social media channels, creative initiatives, and comprehensive digital strategy
  • Monitor digital marketing performance and optimize campaigns to ensure maximum effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Editorial, and Publicity departments to develop cohesive strategies that drive discoverability and conversions for front list and backlist titles with new readers.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices and provide recommendations on new platforms and publishing trends to create engagement.
  • Generate campaign recaps and analytics for author, editorial, and executive teams.
  • Manage operational aspects of marketing budget and media planning.
  • Develop and implement data-driven frameworks for marketing analytics, metadata optimization, and budget allocation
  • Act as key liaison with paid media agencies to manage day-to-day relationships.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years’ experience in a digital marketing role supporting consumer products, ideally in trade book publishing
  • Deep understanding of e-commerce platforms for print and digital products, particularly Amazon advertising, TikTok Shop, and Instagram Shop
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills, with proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) - diplomacy and interpersonal skills are a necessity
  • Expertise in analytics tools and performance metrics across multiple digital platforms

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in consumer products, preferably in book publishing
  • An avid reader and book lover

Preferred Education

  • College degree preferred

The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
