Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Library Media Specialist to join our team in New Haven, CT. Key Responsibilities

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

  • A valid Connecticut State Certification as a School Library Media Specialist (062)
  • A bachelor's degree in Library Science, Education, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Library Media Specialist, preferably in a public school setting
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to achieve common goals
  • Strong knowledge of library media principles, practices, and technologies
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a passion for creating a welcoming and inclusive learning environment

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • A master's degree in Library Science, Education, or a related field
