About the Role and Its Impact

As a Quality Control Specialist at Fictiv, you will play a critical role in supporting the continual improvement and development of our manufacturing partners located in the Americas. Your dedication to operational excellence will be instrumental in helping us achieve our goal of creating the world's premier platform for hardware manufacturing. You will work closely with our US-based SQEs to reactively address problems at our manufacturing partners and proactively drive performance improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct remote inspections by reviewing part photographs, inspection reports, and other documentation uploaded by Fictiv's US manufacturing partners.
• Release conforming parts by completing transactions in Fictiv's ERP system, allowing Logistics to release shipping information to the manufacturing partners.
• Provide clear and timely information to manufacturing partners about the reasons for part rejection and review resubmitted parts.
• Enter nonconformance information into Fictiv's proprietary Workbench system to drive improvement actions through our corrective action reporting process.
• Support Fictiv's industry-leading on-time, in-full (OTIF) performance by ensuring parts are released on time and making sure that no escaping defects reach the customer.
• Collaborate with colleagues in India and the US on improving business processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
• Perform other tasks assigned by the Quality Manager.

Essential Qualifications and Traits

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications and traits:

• A minimum of 5 years of manufacturing quality control experience.
• A minimum of 3 years of working US business hours.
• Experience with 3D printed, CNC machined, injection molded, and sheet metal fabricated parts, including finishes.
• Good visual acuity (you will be required to pass regular eye examinations).
• Good English reading and writing skills, as well as cross-culture communication skills.
• A self-starter who manages time efficiently and can complete work in a timely manner without active supervision.
• Excitement about the potential of remote inspection vs. hands-on inspection.
• A passion for continuously improving and learning.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:

• Experience working in a digital manufacturing ecosystem.
• Knowledge of AI and machine learning algorithms.
• Familiarity with Fictiv's proprietary Workbench system.
• Experience working in a remote team environment.
