Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Remote Customer Service Representative to handle incoming calls from new and existing business clients, addressing a variety of requests in an efficient and effective manner. As a key member of our customer service team, you will use your knowledge of our products and services, combined with excellent customer service skills, to address issues, provide support, offer information, and place orders to keep our customers satisfied and retain their business. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity with a competitive pay rate of $17.50 for English speaking and $20.00 for Bilingual French speaking, and a shift schedule of 11:00am-7:15pm, with paid training from 9am-5pm for two weeks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls and process orders in a timely and efficient manner
  • Correctly document customer interactions and track call types to ensure accurate records and data analysis
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and support service levels, upholding blithequark's Customer Service standards
  • Follow up with customers to resolve inquiries regarding order status, shipping status, and stock availability, ensuring prompt and effective communication
  • Takes inbound phone calls for up to 90% of assigned shift, handling a high volume of calls (approximately 80 per day) with professionalism and poise
  • Perform all other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and requirements

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must meet the following essential qualifications:

  • Live within a 2-hour radius of Port Washington, NY, to ensure easy access to our office for equipment pickup and other requirements
  • High school diploma or GED, demonstrating a foundation in education and a commitment to learning
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in high-volume calls or call center experience, with a proven track record of handling customer inquiries and resolving issues effectively
  • Medical-related background (medical billing, claims experience, in-office experience in a medical setting) or insurance experience is highly desirable, although not essential
  • Excellent telephone etiquette, including the ability to communicate with confidence in a clear, professional speaking voice
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated listening and comprehension skills
  • A clear team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively with colleagues and customers to achieve shared goals
  • Ability to maintain composure when dealing with difficult customer situations, remaining calm and professional under pressure
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Strong PC skills, including MS Office (Word and Excel), with SAP experience a plus
  • Previous experience in the optical industry is desirable, although not essential, with a willingness to learn and adapt to our products and services
  • Ability to navigate information systems and the internet with ease, demonstrating a strong foundation in technology and digital literacy
  • Strong English comprehension and a good command of grammar, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to connect hardwire/ethernet, with no hotspots/WIFI, to ensure secure and reliable connectivity

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following preferred qualifications will be highly regarded:

  • Bilingual French speaking, with the ability to communicate fluently with customers in both English and French
  • Previous experience in a remote or home-based customer service role, with a proven track record of working independently and managing time effectively
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software, with the ability to navigate and utilize our systems with ease
  • Certification in customer service or a related field, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
