Key Responsibilities

• Solve large-scale and difficult engineering problems with elegant and practical code, demonstrating industry-leading technical abilities and a breadth and depth of technical knowledge.
• Work across teams to help define engineering best practices and standards, and provide technical mentorship to other members of the engineering teams, showcasing effective technical leadership skills.
• Be a champion for the customer, ensuring their needs always come first, and demonstrating a passion for working with smart home devices.
• Design and build software for mobile, front-end clients, and server systems, using agile development strategies and thriving in a fast-paced, high-energy work environment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements, and develop solutions that meet customer needs and exceed expectations.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience, with a strong background in programming languages and software development principles.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience, including experience with design patterns, reliability, and scaling of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language, and a strong understanding of computer science fundamentals.

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the essential qualifications, we are looking for candidates who have:

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent, with a strong academic record and a passion for learning and growth.
• Experience working with agile development methodologies, and a strong understanding of DevOps principles and practices.
