Job Summary

We're looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to work in our Emergency Department, providing critical care to patients in need. As a Registered Nurse, you'll be responsible for assessing patient conditions, developing care plans, and delivering high-quality nursing care. You'll work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care and promote positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participates in bedside shift report/handoff and performs hourly rounding to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Obtains required patient assessments and reassessments per nursing policy, and coordinates timely teaching to patients and families.
  • Implements and monitors nursing interventions, consistently documenting assessments, interventions, and outcomes in Meditech within required timeframes.
  • Collaborates with team members to identify patient needs, recognizes changes in patient conditions, and communicates effectively with physicians using SBAR.
  • Effectively manages patient care, delegates tasks according to patient needs and caregiver skills, and utilizes interpersonal communication to facilitate productive relationships.
  • Establishes therapeutic relationships with patients and families, promotes positive patient experiences, and seeks help from resources as needed.
  • Maintains current knowledge of hospital policies, clarifies unclear communication, and uses proper channels of authority.
  • Demonstrates ability to triage patients effectively, collects data related to physical, psychological, and psychosocial health status, and develops care plans based on assessed needs.
  • Performs admission, handoff, transfer, and discharge procedures, coordinates with physician plans of care, and utilizes A.I.D.E.T. with all patient interactions.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:

  • Current licensure in the State of Ohio or West Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
  • BLS certification required upon hire.
  • Annual stroke education certification required upon hire.
  • ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required within 1 year of employment.
  • Maintains compliance in RQI.
  • Verbal, clerical, numerical, and manual dexterity skills, as well as color vision and near visual acuity.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • ASLS certification upon hire.
  • Stroke Education certification.
  • Previous experience in an Emergency Department setting.
