Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and prepare our maintenance equipment to the highest possible standard, ensuring that all equipment is in good working order and ready for use.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, inspections, and repairs, on a variety of golf course maintenance equipment, including heavy and light mowing equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical defects and failures in equipment, using your knowledge of small engine overhaul, gas and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and welding.
• Assist in the maintenance of the facility and shop work areas, including shop tools, demo inventory, and other equipment.
• Operate equipment and assist the Superintendent on course, as needed.
• Communicate effectively with the Equipment Manager to report any needs or problems relating to maintenance or repair of equipment.
• Adhere to proper recycling and disposal procedures for various oils, compounds, and other fluids.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and best practices.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

• A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• A minimum of one to two years of experience as a mechanic in a golf course setting.
• A valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Working knowledge of the general operation of gasoline, diesel, and electric powered equipment.
• Mechanical ability and the ability to use common mechanical tools.
• Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all conditions, including wind, noise, dirt, mud, oil, fuel, dust, heat, and cold.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

• Experience with hydraulic systems and welding.
• Knowledge of golf course maintenance equipment and operations.
• Certifications or training in small engine repair, diesel mechanics, or related fields.
