Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Attractions Mechanic to join our team at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. As an Attractions Mechanic, you will play a critical role in maintaining the magic of our parks and attractions, ensuring that our guests have an unforgettable experience. Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of ride and show mechanical assets or equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety
• Respond promptly to trouble tickets at a park or attraction, troubleshooting and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner
• Conduct daily checks, startup or shutdown sequencing of a ride, and perform other duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of our attractions
• Work with cleaning chemicals and supplies, and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, including face shields, goggles, and refillable hand sanitizers
• Collaborate with other team members to maintain a safe and efficient working environment, and participate in ongoing training and development to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques

Essential Qualifications

• Valid Florida Driver's License
• Experience with practices including millwright mechanical work, such as gearbox assemblies, bearing replacement, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, restraint systems, brake and wheel assemblies
• Practical experience with repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems
• Ability to interpret schematics and prints, and use diagrams to verify dimensions, materials, parts, and specifications
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a fast-paced environment with varying levels of noise and activity
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Proficiency in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devices

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as mechanical engineering or a similar discipline
• Experience working in a theme park or attractions environment, with knowledge of safety protocols and procedures
• Certifications or training in areas such as OSHA, lockout/tagout, or other relevant safety protocols
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other maintenance software
• Ability to speak multiple languages, with a focus on languages commonly spoken by our international guests
