Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in the absence of their regular teacher
• Manage classroom environments to ensure a productive and respectful learning atmosphere
• Adapt to different teaching assignments and curriculum requirements
• Communicate effectively with school staff, administrators, and parents
• Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your designated Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback and develop your teaching skills
• Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your teaching practices

Essential Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
• Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor
• NJ Substitute Credential
• Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this)
• Full COVID-19 vaccination
• A passion for education and putting students first
• An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Substitute Teacher or in a related educational role
• Special education experience or certification
• Subject-specific teaching certifications (e.g., Math, Science, English)
• Experience working with diverse student populations and age groups (Kinder, Early Years, Elementary, Middle, High School)

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

• Earn up to $190 for day-to-day assignments, and more for long-term assignments
• Weekly pay
