Our Information and Investigation group for Disney Web-based features (DSS), a section under the Disney Diversion and ESPN Innovation (DE&ET), is dedicated to harnessing the power of data to drive growth and improvement.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Data Engineer to join our team at blithequark. As a key member of our Information and Investigation group, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing data solutions that drive business value. You will work closely with our Information Item Chiefs, Information Modelers, and Information Architects to design, implement, and deliver successful data solutions. Your expertise in data engineering, data warehousing, and data science will enable us to make informed decisions and drive growth.

Key Responsibilities

* Design and develop data solutions that meet the needs of our business stakeholders

• Plan and develop versatile data warehousing solutions, building ETL pipelines in Large Data conditions (cloud, on-prem, hybrid)
• Collaborate with Information Item Chiefs, Information Modelers, and Information Architects to design, implement, and deliver successful data solutions
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to ensure data quality and data governance
• Ensure high functional productivity and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and support our commitment to our clients (Information Science, Information Examination groups)
• Participate in agile/scrum practice to ensure team well-being and cycle enhancements

Essential Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

• Strong SQL skills and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets
• Experience with distributed systems like Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Voila, PySpark) to query and process data
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java/Scala
• Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (Snowflake, Redshift, Large Query)
• Strong involvement in data integration toolsets (i.e. Wind current) and writing and maintaining data pipelines
• Strong understanding of data modeling strategies and data warehousing standard practices
• Familiarity with Scrum and Agile approaches

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with cloud technologies like AWS (S3, EMR, EC2)

• Strong understanding of data governance and data quality principles
• Experience with data visualization tools and techniques
• Familiarity with machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts
