Responsibilities

As a full stack customer service representative with blithequark, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing exceptional support to health plan members, providers, and their representatives, addressing a wide range of inquiries and concerns related to health plan benefits, claims, eligibility, medical procedures, billing, and payments.
  • Conducting outbound and/or return calls to customers, as necessary, to resolve issues and provide assistance.
  • Asking appropriate questions and listening actively to identify specific questions or issues, providing clear and concise responses and documentation in computer systems.
  • Communicating and partnering with customers tactfully and empathetically to resolve issues, using clear language to translate complex healthcare-related jargon and processes into simple, step-by-step instructions.
  • Handling and processing customer complaints/grievances, applying conflict management skills to de-escalate potentially stressful situations.
  • Meeting performance goals established for the position in areas of efficiency, accuracy, quality, member satisfaction, and attendance.

Key Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 1+ year of experience in a call center or customer service environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong empathy and active listening skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Experience working in the healthcare industry or with health plan members and providers.
  • Certification in customer service, conflict resolution, or a related field.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse customer populations.
