Job Summary

As a Senior Product Manager - AI Data Foundation, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our data infrastructure. You will collaborate with engineers and data scientists to assess the criticality of knowledge sources in relation to business goals. Your expertise will be essential in driving innovation and ensuring our data infrastructure is optimized for advanced AI applications, ultimately enhancing our business operations and customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Planning (50%):
    • Develop a deep understanding of end-users and use that knowledge to determine the fastest path to deliver value.
    • Translate business goals and end-user needs into product strategy, communicating direction and product priorities to the development team, other matrixed teams, and third-party partners.
    • Identify goals, metrics, and analytics to determine product value, continually making recommendations and refinements to the product backlog based on learnings.
    • Manage and groom the product backlog, making future decisions based on the value that will be delivered.
    • Partner with Finance to understand financial needs and assist in the creation of business plans for new opportunities.
    • Monitor research and the competitive landscape to recommend the best solutions and ensure that products remain or become best in class.
  • Delivery & Execution (20%):
    • Formulate, test, and refine assumptions and hypotheses through user research and testing.
    • Document, review, and ensure that all quality and change control standards are met.
    • Create, prioritize, and accept user stories, incorporating them into release planning.
    • Make product decisions that drive value on a daily basis.
    • Identify and consider pros, cons, issues, obstacles, dependencies, and value associated with features and enhancements.
    • Participate in standups, iteration planning sessions, product demos, and retrospectives.
    • Condense complex technical concepts into non-technical language for stakeholders.
  • People (30%):
    • Foster collaboration with team members (Engineering, UX, etc.) to drive value and identify and resolve impediments.
    • Act as a proponent of modern software development practices.
    • Advocate for the end-user and stakeholder by becoming associated with the product, empathizing with and understanding user needs.
    • Work with the product team to continuously assess progress, disseminate lessons learned, and understand next steps.
    • Manage cross-functional team and stakeholder expectations to execute on product strategy and provide education to requestors to determine prioritization based on tangible benefits and/or user experience.
    • Guide more junior team members in strategy, alignment, analysis, and execution tasks.
    • Participate in and contribute to learning activities around modern software design and development core practices (communities of practice).
    • Participate in talent acquisition, development, and retention activities in support of the team.

Requirements & Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • A bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
  • 3 years of work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong background in AI, machine learning, and data science.
  • MBA or a Master's degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Data Science, or AI.
  • Proficiency in managing and leveraging large-scale data lakes with both structured and unstructured data.
  • Experience with GenAI technologies and frameworks, including knowledge enrichment and vectorization techniques.
  • Proven track record of managing technical products from concept to launch.
  • Experience in creating and executing product roadmaps, defining product vision, and setting success metrics.
  • Strong understanding of CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) operations for knowledge management.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional teams, including engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts and business value.
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and optimize processes.
  • Ability to align product initiatives with business goals and leadership priorities.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to drive innovation and long-term vision for AI applications.
