Job Overview

As a Bilingual Customer Service Agent at blithequark, you will play a vital role in providing top-notch support to our customers. Your primary responsibilities will include handling customer inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring that our customers receive the best possible service. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, interacting with customers via phone, email, or in person, and collaborating with our internal teams to resolve complex issues. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service by responding to customer inquiries, resolving issues, and addressing concerns in a professional and courteous manner
  • Process customer payments, prepare bills, and make adjustments as needed
  • Handle work orders for service disconnections, reconnections, and new orders
  • Read and record meters and water usage, and perform field work such as installing new meters, repairing leaks, and assisting with emergency repairs
  • Establish and maintain customer accounts, ensuring that account information is accurate and up-to-date
  • Input and query databases to make financial adjustments and prorate changes
  • Assist with special projects and other related duties as assigned

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Verify credit and deposit information
  • Review customer correspondence and provide information about community financial assistance resources
  • Review income eligibility applications, tax returns, and transcripts
  • Instruct lower-level employees and transmit and receive radio communication to and from field personnel

Essential Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

  • Fluency in Spanish and English
  • Previous experience in customer service, preferably in the water utilities industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with databases and software applications
  • Knowledge of water utilities industry regulations and policies
