Account Executive, Surety - Montreal
About the Role We are seeking a skilled and experienced Account Executive to lead our dynamic Surety team in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.Key Responsibilities Include
- Serve as strategic point of contact for client; Conduct and coordinate client services.
- Build and maintain effective and sustainable relationships with clients on an enterprise-wide basis; Work in the best interest of the client and the company to secure appropriate compensation for the company.
- Review book of business production reports and account receivable (A/R) reports for accuracy upon receipt, delegate follow up accordingly
- Cultivate local carrier relationships to support company visibility and credibility in the construction surety marketplace.
- Maintain knowledge of carrier underwriting appetites and contacts and recommend appropriate markets for client programs
- Analyze client risk profile and develop marketing strategy with the team and client
- Compile and/or approve complete and accurate large project and program submissions and deliver to underwriters; Provide timely responses to underwriter submission inquiries
- Supports team in response to requests for proposals (RFP)
- Identify the surety needs of clients and prospects. Develop and recommend appropriate products and services.
- Presents custom solutions to clients and prospects in a clear and professional manner
- Provide thought leadership, embracing change and innovation as the industry evolves
- Achieve new business sales goals; Retain a minimum of 95% of individual book of business year over year
- Positively and proactively represents American Global in meetings, seminars, trade shows, networking events, industry associations, organizations, boards and charities, as appropriate.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the sales discovery process (due diligence)
- Clearly promote American Global's competitive differentiation in written and verbal presentations
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of competitors to aid in company prospecting efforts
- Build and develop relationship with centers of influence
- Additional responsibilities as required
- Strong technical property and casualty knowledge
- Minimum of 5+ years of industry experience
- Proven ability to present and clearly explain information to clients
- Proven ability to clearly explain problems/concerns to co-workers, supervisors and/or agency principals and suggest/recommend solutions
- Competence in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and Adobe
- Ability to drive strategy
- Professional fluency in French (spoken and written)
- College degree preferred
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
