Job Summary

The Manager of Outreach and Academic Services, Fort Bragg will provide management and guidance for the Upward Bound, Fort Bragg program, and supervise staff and student personnel. This role requires a strong and diverse skillset in relevant areas, including program development and evaluation, fiscal management, and personnel supervision. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing all student-centered program operations, with a primary focus on classroom curriculum, teaching, and management.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide management and guidance for the Upward Bound, Fort Bragg program

  • Supervise staff and student personnel
  • Plan, organize, and implement all student-centered program operations
  • Develop and implement classroom curriculum, teaching, and management strategies
  • Hire, supervise, and evaluate assigned personnel
  • Assist with budget management and audit compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all SSU, CSU, and sponsoring agency policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to achieve program goals and objectives
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders
  • Analyze data and evaluate program effectiveness
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve program outcomes

Essential Qualifications

* Minimum of three years' experience in personnel supervision and evaluation, program development and evaluation, and fiscal management

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid CA teaching or pupil personnel services credential highly preferred
  • Master's Degree in Education or related field preferred
  • Demonstrated experience working with high school-aged students
  • Aptitude in management, supervision, strategic planning, project management, and program implementation
  • Ability to adapt to change in the work environment, effectively handle multiple tasks and competing demands
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written form
  • Ability to design and implement formative and summative evaluation strategies
  • High level of proficiency with computer applications, including Google Suite and Microsoft Office (Excel spreadsheets and MS Word)
  • Knowledge of Google Suite, Aeries, student information system, and PeopleSoft preferred

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience advising, teaching, and tutoring

  • Knowledge of learning strategies, academic skill development, and appropriate grade-level assessments
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and understanding to the needs and characteristics of low-income and potential first-generation college students
  • Ability to facilitate academic and motivational development for low-income and first-generation college students
  • Knowledge of the college preparation and placement processes
  • Ability to be initiative and resourceful
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the university and establish and maintain productive and effective working relationships amongst diverse populations

* Competitive salary range of $4,500 to $4,800 per month
