Experienced Teaching Assistant (Hall Monitor) - Danville High School Remote Opportunity

Job Summary
As a Teaching Assistant (Hall Monitor), you will be responsible for providing support to teachers and students, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment. Your primary duties will include:
- Assisting teachers with instructional tasks, such as preparing materials, grading assignments, and supervising students during lessons
- Maintaining a positive and respectful attitude, promoting a culture of inclusivity and respect among students, teachers, and staff
- Supervising students during transitions, such as between classes, during lunch, and during extracurricular activities
- Monitoring student behavior, addressing any issues or concerns, and reporting incidents to teachers and administrators as needed
- Collaborating with teachers to develop and implement lesson plans, instructional strategies, and assessments
- Providing individualized support to students, including tutoring, mentoring, and counseling
- Maintaining accurate records, including attendance, grades, and behavioral data
Key Responsibilities

- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents, both verbally and in writing
Essential Qualifications
* Valid Illinois Paraprofessional License
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience working with students, particularly in a high school setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in education or a related field
- Experience working in a school setting, particularly as a teaching assistant or paraprofessional
- Knowledge of curriculum and instructional strategies
- Experience working with diverse populations, including students with special needs
- Bilingual or multilingual skills
