You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure suppliers successfully meet business objectives, maximize supplier value, and mitigate risk through strategic sourcing events, negotiations, and contract management.

Responsibilities

As an Experienced Technology Supply Chain Management (SCM) Category Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Advising technology and stakeholders on common risk elements of a supplier agreement and/or program or project
  • Assisting leaders with decision-making processes by encouraging competitive evaluation of new suppliers through the RFP process
  • Creating and implementing negotiation strategies to drive value and minimize risk
  • Managing supplier communications and coordinating contract negotiation and strategic sourcing events
  • Collaborating with internal customers to gain a solid understanding of business requirements and develop effective solutions
  • Educating stakeholders and setting expectations to achieve improved business outcomes and align around key positions on issues such as IP, data security, LOL, and SLA development
  • Managing ongoing demand planning with technology and/or business stakeholders for assigned agreements and renewals
  • Supporting multiple technical categories across multiple programs and areas of the business
  • Identifying potential procurement opportunities through data analysis, category and industry knowledge, current and emerging business models, and discussions with stakeholders
  • Communicating performance and concerns with suppliers that may result in redefining the relationship

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, or a related field
  • Proven track record of driving business growth and excellence through strategic sourcing and procurement
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers
  • Experience with contract management, negotiation, and strategic sourcing events
  • Knowledge of procurement laws and regulations, including FAR and DFARS
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications would be a plus:

  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Certification in supply chain management, such as CSCP or CPSM
  • Experience with technology spend management, including cloud-based solutions and software as a service (SaaS)
  • Knowledge of industry trends and emerging business models
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive business outcomes
