Key Responsibilities

As a Customs Trade Coordinator, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing exceptional customer service to internal teams and external stakeholders, including clients, carriers, brokers, and government agencies
  • Processing and managing customs documentation, including import and export records, duty books, and other relevant documents
  • Coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure that all shipments are processed efficiently and accurately
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all shipments, including customs documentation and other relevant information
  • Complying with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to international trade and customs procedures
  • Working closely with other teams and departments to ensure seamless communication and collaboration
  • Processing organization financier shipments and handling distant filings as needed
  • Ensuring that all service and operational procedures are followed

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as international trade, logistics, or business administration
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a minimum of six months of work experience preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience with data entry and computer systems, including Viewpoint and other relevant software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to handle high volumes of work and tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications would be highly desirable:

  • Experience in customs trade and logistics, including knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Familiarity with international trade agreements and regulations, including NAFTA, WTO, and other relevant agreements
  • Experience working with government agencies, including customs and border protection
  • Knowledge of trade compliance and risk management principles
  • Experience with trade management software and systems
