What You'll Do

As an Experienced Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for:

  • Completing daily tasks related to account processing, object processing, direct bills, and budget transfers at blithequark's Credit Union.
  • Coordinating return objects with contributors, door vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank, and other institutions.
  • Assisting various departments with fraud resolution, member inquiries, and associated Accounting standard ledger balancing.
  • Working member cases/assignments and following guidelines and procedures to ensure strict compliance with NACHA regulations and guidelines and Federal Banking laws.
  • Processing mortgage bills, multi-account and member deposits, credit card bills, and other exams, including IRA, bankruptcy, and payoff exams.
  • Reviewing, examining, and approving Remote Deposit, Mobile, ATM, and other imaged-enabled products.
  • Logging, studying, and making important GL, account changes, and/or returns.
  • Processing Stop Pays and Check Batching.
  • Completing daily balancing and department closing.
  • Obtaining information from contributors for the timely and correct processing of domestic and international budget switch requests.
  • Researching and affirming incoming and outgoing budget switch information.
  • Communicating with vendors to facilitate budget transfers.
  • Understanding and being familiar with outgoing and incoming budget switch laws.
  • Depositing check returns, studying member re-exams on draft changes, processing member exams, affirming contributors for outgoing budget transfers, and Federal Reserve verifying and releasing budget transfers.
  • Completing daily processing of workflows associated with overdue returns, supply of receipts, overseas collections, and court fees.

All You'll Need for Success

To excel in this role, you'll require:

  • A high school degree or GED.
  • Intermediate Excel and Word experience.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines under high-pressure situations.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with all personnel and contributors.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, previous customer/member service experience, banking or Credit Union experience, and Episys/Symitar and processing wires experience are highly desirable.

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) through work experience or education and hands-on use of the software.
  • Ability to work prolonged hours in support of business needs.
  • Ability to exercise excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and analyze data.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to cross-train and perform any position assigned within the department.
  • Ability to interact professionally with all personnel and contributors.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to self-motivate with strong employer skills and ability for interest to detail.
  • Ability to maintain excellent performance and attendance.
  • Must pass relevant blithequark and Credit Union pre-employment compliance exams.
