Key Responsibilities

As an External Support Engineer at blithequark, you'll be responsible for:

• Providing technical support to content/external teams in regards to use of content tools, ensuring they have the resources and expertise they need to succeed.
• Creating reference materials and providing training to get external teams up to speed with the toolset, empowering them to work independently and efficiently.
• Solving and debugging possible issues with tools and workflows to quickly resolve issues for users, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
• Escalating more complex or problematic issues to the tool development team, working closely with production to track these issues in JIRA and ensure timely resolution.
• Advocating for tools, workflow improvements, and suggestions from external teams, using your expertise to drive positive change and continuous improvement.
• Partnering with other engineers to develop tools and processes that improve efficiency and quality, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
• Guiding or leading cross-disciplinary dialogs to drive features from initial concept to completion, bringing together stakeholders from diverse backgrounds to achieve shared goals.
• Exemplifying reliability, accountability, and professionalism in all work-related interactions, setting a high standard for yourself and your team.

Essential Skills and Abilities

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

• The ability to read and understand C# code, with a solid foundation in software development principles and practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with external partners and stakeholders.
• A positive attitude and the ability to receive and provide objective and constructive feedback, fostering a culture of growth and improvement.
• Excellent organization skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage numerous requests simultaneously, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results.

Education and Experience

While a Computer Science or related degree is preferred, we also welcome candidates with equivalent work experience. If you have:

• Experience supporting a live service or tool environment, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results under pressure.
• Unity 3D game and tool development experience, with a solid understanding of game development principles and practices.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, or other defect tracking software, with a strong understanding of agile development methodologies and practices.
• iOS and Android mobile development experience, with a solid foundation in mobile app development principles and practices.
• 5 years' experience in delivering production-level code in a professional environment, with a proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

As a remote worker, you'll have the flexibility to work from anywhere, but you'll be expected to be available for meetings and collaborations during our core hours of 10:00am to 6:00pm CST. This means you'll need to be able to work independently and manage your time effectively, with minimal supervision.

These considerations can cause your compensation to vary and will also be dependent on your location. The overall market range for roles in this area of blithequark is typically $150,000 - 325,000.
