Key Responsibilities

As an Experienced Retail Customer Service Associate – Print, Signs & Graphics, and Shipping Expert, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing exceptional customer service by using consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, and find solutions to meet customer needs
  • Demonstrating expertise in printing, signs & graphics, and shipping product lines, recommending appropriate blithequark products and services to meet customer needs
  • Taking complex customer orders using order systems and providing accurate pricing information
  • Assembling parcels and preparing goods for shipping by wrapping items in insulation, inserting items into shipping containers, weighing packages, and affixing labels to parcels
  • Setting up and operating printing, binding, and other related equipment using customer-supplied original media and documents
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly retail store environment
  • Processing financial transactions using a Point of Sale terminal (POS), including handling cash and making change
  • Cleaning, repairing, and stocking all retail store printing and shipping equipment and supplies to provide optimal performance and availability
  • Staying current on retail store merchandising materials and ensuring proper display of all retail area product and signage
  • Taking preemptive action to prevent errors and waste
  • Completing required financial paperwork and assisting with financial reporting, including daily sales, close-outs, and bank deposits

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent education
  • 6+ months of specialized experience in a retail or customer service environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to stand during entire shift, excluding meal and rest periods
  • Ability to move and lift 55 pounds
  • Ability, on a consistent basis, to bend/twist at the waist and knees
  • Ability, on a consistent basis, to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other team members
  • Ability, on a consistent basis, to perform work activities requiring cooperation and instruction
  • Ability, on a consistent basis, to function in a fast-paced environment, under substantial pressure
  • Ability, on a consistent basis, to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time
  • Ability, on a consistent basis, to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability, on a consistent basis, to report regularly to work and maintain established business hours in order to support the blithequark business

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Previous experience in a retail or customer service environment
  • Knowledge of printing, signs & graphics, and shipping product lines
  • Experience with Point of Sale terminals (POS) and financial transactions
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide training to colleagues
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
