Job Overview

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Customer Service Representative to join our team. As a Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you will be responsible for handling incoming phone calls and serving as the primary customer interface for inquiries. You will inform and educate customers, serve as a member advocate, and build trust in our abilities. By utilizing established best practices, attending ongoing training, and leveraging resources and tools, you will serve as an expert in helping customers navigate complex issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle incoming phone calls and respond to customer inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
  • Research customer information utilizing appropriate systems, policies, regulations, procedures, and other reference materials to effectively respond to and resolve customer issues
  • Elevate sensitive customer requests when necessary and ensure timely resolution
  • Comply with State and Federal regulations and mandates, staying current on policies and procedures to support customers and ensure compliance
  • Proactively recommend products and services to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer issues and improve overall customer experience

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and three years of experience in a complaint-type customer service office setting (health insurance or related field preferred)
  • Availability for 9-12 weeks of live virtual training, Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm (Central Time Zone)
  • Reliable internet service provider and a dedicated, distraction-free workplace
  • Basic medical/dental terminology and contract interpretation is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in the health insurance industry
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with customers
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and managing time effectively
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve complex customer issues
