Key Responsibilities:
As an Experienced Customs Trade Coordinator, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing exceptional customer service to clients, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
- Processing customs documentation, including import and export records, duty calculations, and other related documents
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of shipments, including tracking numbers, delivery dates, and other relevant information
- Collaborating with internal teams, including sales, operations, and customer service, to ensure seamless communication and coordination
- Staying up-to-date with changing regulations and requirements, including customs laws, tariffs, and other trade-related policies
- Utilizing various software systems and tools, including MS Office, Viewpoint, and other relevant applications
- Performing other duties as assigned, including data entry, filing, and other administrative tasks
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as international trade, logistics, or business administration
- At least 6 months of experience in a related field, preferably in customs brokerage or international trade
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations, tariffs, and other trade-related policies
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in MS Office, Viewpoint, and other relevant software systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high volume of work and tight deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions
Preferred Qualifications:
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience with customs clearance software, such as FedEx's customs clearance system
- Knowledge of international trade laws and regulations, including the Harmonized System (HS) and the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA)
- Certification in customs brokerage or international trade, such as the Certified Customs Broker (CCB) or the Certified International Trade Professional (CITP)
- Fluency in multiple languages, including Spanish, French, or other languages commonly used in international trade
