Job Summary

As a Customer Service/Sales Representative at blithequark, you'll be responsible for providing fast, friendly service to our customers by actively seeking out their needs and providing assistance. You'll learn about our products and services using our tools and provide information to customers to help them make informed purchasing decisions. You'll also be responsible for maintaining the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide fast, friendly service to customers by actively seeking out their needs and providing assistance

  • Learn about products and services using our tools and provide information to customers to help them make informed purchasing decisions
  • Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe
  • Greet, qualify, recommend, and close every customer in your department
  • Handle basics in adjacent departments, including Building Materials, D‚cor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental
  • Work in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department as well as other departments
  • Provide a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies & standards, completing specified safety training, immediately correcting hazards & unsafe conditions or reporting conditions to the Manager on Duty, and working safely as not to endanger yourself, co-workers, vendors, or customers

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred

  • 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience required; experience in a retail or sales environment preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in a sales or customer service role in a retail or sales environment

  • Knowledge of building materials, tools, or other related products
  • Experience working in a team environment and providing excellent customer service
  • Ability to learn and use our tools and systems to provide information to customers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
