Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team and help us design, develop, and maintain our event-driven data pipelines on AWS. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of AWS local event-driven services, such as Amazon EventBridge, AWS Lambda, and AWS Step Functions. They will also have experience with data engineering best practices, including data modeling, data quality, and data security. Additionally, the candidate should have experience with Python, NoSQL, and Kinesis.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Data Engineer at blithequark, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining event-driven data pipelines on AWS
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand and define data requirements
  • Performing data quality checks and monitoring
  • Optimizing data pipelines for execution and cost
  • Staying up-to-date on the latest AWS advancements
  • Developing and implementing personalization algorithms using Python and Pydantic models
  • Building and maintaining DynamoDB tables and NoSQL databases
  • Using Amazon Kinesis to collect, process, and analyze streaming data

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering
  • Strong understanding of AWS local event-driven services
  • Experience with data modeling, data quality, and data security
  • Experience with Python and serverless technologies
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with personalization, Python, Pydantic models, DynamoDB, and NoSQL
  • Experience with Amazon Kinesis

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications will give you an upper hand:

  • Master's degree in computer science, data science, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering
  • Strong experience with cloud-based data pipelines
  • Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence
  • Strong understanding of data governance and compliance
