The Role
As a Senior Software Development Engineer on our Data Platform team, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining high-scale, high-performance data systems that fuel our business. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including programmers and machine learning architects, to develop data stage reflections that meet the needs of various groups, systems, and products. Your expertise will be instrumental in streamlining data delivery, building frameworks for optimal data extraction, transformation, and loading, and creating stream processing pipelines and tools to support a wide range of analysis and review use cases.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with designers, programmers, and ML architects to develop data stage reflections that meet the needs of various groups, systems, and products
- Design and implement high-scale, high-performance data systems that fuel our business
- Streamline data delivery and build frameworks for optimal data extraction, transformation, and loading
- Create stream processing pipelines and tools to support a wide range of analysis and review use cases
- Continuously assess new and relevant technologies and drive the adoption of new best practices
- Influence and drive engineering and design conversations in the Data Platform team
- Work in a cross-functional team and collaborate with peers throughout the entire software development life cycle with a strong focus on continuous delivery
- Act as a technical mentor and guide for junior colleagues, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment
Abilities and Qualifications for Success
* In-depth understanding and experience working with high-scale data lake house systems
- Active experience with Big Data technologies like Apache Flink, SQL, Hadoop, Hive, Windshift, Kafka, and Kafka connectors
- Active experience in the AWS stack: S3, EMR, RDS, etc.
- Strong programming skills in at least one of the following languages: Java, Scala, Go, Python
- Strong understanding of database and data storage fundamentals
- Strong understanding of data storage designs like Parquet, Hudi, Delta, etc.
- Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment
- Experience with data lake house solutions like Data bricks is a plus
- Experience with continuous streaming data pipelines using Flink Streaming or Flink is a plus
Favored Education and Experience
* B.Tech/B.E/Experts/PhD in Software engineering from a reputable university or related technical discipline
- 4-6 years of experience in software development, ideally in data-related groups
