Job Summary
As an Experienced Full Stack Data Engineering Manager at blithequark, you will be responsible for leading a team of skilled engineers in the design, development, and maintenance of large-scale data applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs. Your expertise in data engineering, software development, and team leadership will be essential in driving the success of our data-driven initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead a team of data engineers in the design, development, and maintenance of large-scale data applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs
- Develop and implement data engineering strategies that align with blithequark's business objectives
- Ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of data applications
- Mentor and coach team members to develop their skills and expertise
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure blithequark remains competitive
- Work with stakeholders to identify and prioritize project requirements
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets
- Ensure compliance with blithequark's policies and procedures
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, software development, and team leadership
- Strong expertise in data engineering tools and systems, including HDFS, Yarn, Flash, Impala, Kafka, HBase, MapReduce, Kubernetes, Item Store, and Flink
- Experience with at least two of the following languages and related development tools: Python, Ruby, Java, Scala, Swift, and Objective C
- Strong understanding of software development principles, including design patterns, testing, and deployment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and prioritize project requirements
- Experience with agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with cloud-based platforms, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure
- Knowledge of big data processing frameworks, including Apache Spark and Apache Flink
- Experience with data warehousing and business intelligence tools, including Amazon Redshift and Tableau
- Strong understanding of data governance and compliance regulations, including GDPR and HIPAA
- Experience with DevOps practices, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD)
