Job Summary

As a Data Entry and Claims Specialist at blithequark, you will play a critical role in supporting our claims processing operations. Your primary responsibilities will include determining eligibility and confirming effective dates for benefit elections, maintaining accurate member records, and applying policy provisions to determine necessary changes. You will leverage your critical thinking and problem-solving skills to create and modify member-level records across multiple products, applications, and platforms. Your ability to work independently, think critically, and demonstrate a customer-centric approach will be essential in delivering exceptional results and exceeding departmental quality and service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determines eligibility and confirms effective dates for benefit elections based on contractual guidelines, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Maintains accurate member records by verifying dates, names, salary figures, and other information provided by groups, applying a high level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Applies policy provisions for effective dates, evidence of insurability, and other pertinent information to determine necessary changes, demonstrating sound judgment and discretion.
  • Leverages critical thinking and problem-solving skills to create and modify member-level records across multiple products, applications, and platforms, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  • Delivers routine work independently, in accordance with established procedures and guidelines, meeting deadlines and exceeding departmental quality and service standards.
  • Makes routine and non-routine decisions, applying limited but increasingly more discretion within the role, except for matters of significance that affect the business as a whole or a significant part of it.
  • Demonstrates a customer-centric approach, considering the customer experience in all actions, and recognizing what needs to be done to meet customer needs, while demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness.

Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will require a combination of education, skills, and experience. The minimum requirements include:

  • High School or GED (Minimum Required)
  • No prior experience required, although experience in data entry, claims processing, or a related field is an asset.

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining speed of work, accuracy, and attention to detail without loss to productivity.
