Job Summary

As a Customer Service/Sales Representative at blithequark, you will be the face of our company, responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences and driving sales growth. You will work closely with customers to understand their needs, provide personalized solutions, and build long-term relationships. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean working environment, adhering to all safety policies and standards, and working collaboratively with your team to achieve sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide fast, friendly, and personalized service to customers, actively seeking out opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products and services

  • Learn about products and services using our tools and training programs, and provide accurate and timely information to customers
  • Greet, qualify, recommend, and close every customer in your department, and know how to handle basics in adjacent departments
  • Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe
  • Provide a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards, completing specified safety training, and reporting hazards and unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty
  • Work collaboratively with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department, as well as other departments, to achieve sales targets and provide exceptional customer experiences
  • Participate in sales training programs and workshops to develop your skills and knowledge
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and customer satisfaction goals
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our products and services, and be able to communicate their benefits and features to customers

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred

  • 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience in a retail or sales environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in a sales or customer service role in a retail or sales environment

  • Knowledge of building materials, electrical, flooring, garden, hardware, kitchen and bath, lumber, millwork, paint, plumbing, and tool rental products and services
  • Experience with sales software and technology, such as CRM systems and sales tracking tools
  • Certification in sales or customer service, such as the Certified Sales Professional (CSP) or Certified Customer Service Representative (CCSR) designations
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate with customers in multiple languages
