Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. RBW Consulting is seeking a Director of Business Development for an innovative CRO focused on early phase clinical trials. The role involves securing new business and managing accounts within the biotech and pharma sectors, requiring strong sales skills and a proactive approach to business development.

Responsibilities

  • Achieving agreed upon sales and business development targets Creating and implementing appropriate business development strategies for identified target markets
  • Prospecting with the goal of establishing a pipeline of sales opportunities and RFP’s from potential clients; suitably qualified for competitive advantage, timing, budget, decision maker
  • Utilizing Salesforce to keep track of client activities including meetings and entering opportunities and updates as required to inform Management of current status
  • Leading and managing the sales process for leads generated and leads received from internal and external sources
  • Leading the proposals development process for all opportunities and the assigned team to ensure that the strategy, budget and proposal language and timelines matches the expectations of the client as identified through extensive interactions with these clients
  • Continually redefining appropriate and profitable market niches for business opportunities, based on evidence
  • Providing input to the Marketing team so that they can create and implement appropriate marketing strategies that support the business development process and team
  • Providing input to business development leadership based on territory and industry knowledge to develop sales targets, sales strategies and sales plans
  • Working with the team to define and implement strategies to support the sales process, including securing resources to perform pre-sales activities
  • Engaging with agents and consultants in other geographic locations to support business development activities in those markets
  • Engaging with internal research staff to maximise selling opportunities associated with existing travel schedules of those staff
  • Identifying and attending appropriate conferences and trade shows to create business opportunities

  • Strong network and sales track record in the east coast region

  • Experience in securing new business and managing accounts of small to mid-size biotechs and pharma
  • Ability to achieve sales and business development targets
  • Experience in creating and implementing business development strategies
  • Proficiency in prospecting and establishing a pipeline of sales opportunities
  • Experience utilizing Salesforce for client activity tracking
  • Ability to lead and manage the sales process for leads generated
  • Experience in leading proposals development process
  • Ability to redefine market niches for business opportunities
  • Ability to provide input to the Marketing team for marketing strategies
