TITLE: Remote Requirements Analyst (Full‑Time) – Business Systems Analyst – JIRA & Azure DevOps Expert – $95k‑$115k Salary Range – Jamestown, New York – Remote ---
Who we are
At
Riverbend Solutions
, we’ve spent the past seven years helping midsize manufacturers in the Midwest modernize their ERP landscapes. Our flagship product,
SupplyChain Insight
, recently crossed the $30 million ARR mark, and we’re now expanding into predictive analytics for the food‑processing sector. While most of our engineers and product owners work from home, we keep a small “hub” of analysts and product managers in
Jamestown, New York
. That hub is the brain behind translating field‑level pain points into clear, testable requirements. If you love turning a vague user story into a concrete, data‑driven specification, you’ll feel right at home here.
Why this role exists now
In Q3 2024 we launched a partnership with a leading IoT platform that will stream sensor data from hundreds of factories directly into our dashboards. That integration demands *new* data models, security controls, and UI flows that have never been built before. Our current backlog is 1,200 tickets, with a 30 % increase in “high‑priority” items month‑over‑month. To keep delivery on schedule and maintain our SLA of 24 hours for requirement clarification, we need an experienced
Requirements Analyst
who can own the end‑to‑end definition process for this next wave of features. The role is also critical for training junior business analysts (BAs) who joined during the 2023 hiring surge.
The team you’ll join
You’ll sit alongside six other
business systems analysts
and three
product owners
in our
Jamestown, New York
hub. The entire analytics squad consists of 12 people, reporting to the Director of Product Strategy. We run two‑week sprint cycles with a 4‑day “spec‑freeze” checkpoint – a rhythm that lets us ship to production every other Friday without sacrificing quality. Our engineers are spread across four time zones, but the analysts in
Jamestown, New York
are the primary liaison with our clients in the Pacific Northwest and the Great Lakes region.
What you’ll do day‑to‑day
-
Gather & synthesize
requirements from stakeholder interviews, user‑testing videos, and raw sensor logs; we typically handle 8–12 distinct workstreams per sprint. -
Create
functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and traceability matrices using
JIRA
,
Confluence
, and
Azure DevOps
. -
Model
data flows and entity‑relationship diagrams in
Lucidchart
and
Visio
; the models feed directly into our downstream data‑warehouse pipelines. -
Facilitate
requirement‑review workshops with cross‑functional teams, ensuring every item meets the Definition of Ready (DoR). -
Validate
developed features in a staging environment, logging defects in
JIRA
and providing detailed repro steps to the QA crew. -
Mentor
junior BAs on techniques like user‑story mapping, impact‑effort analysis, and the use of
Balsamiq
for rapid wire‑framing. -
Report
progress to senior leadership through weekly KPI dashboards built in
Power BI
and
Tableau
, focusing on metrics such as requirement throughput, defect leak‑ratio, and stakeholder satisfaction scores (currently averaging 4.3/5).
How we work – the “remote but close” model
Even though the position is fully remote, we embrace a *hybrid* mindset: the
Jamestown, New York
office hosts a weekly “Analyst Huddle” where the whole team gathers for a 90‑minute deep‑dive into upcoming releases. If you’re in the area, we encourage you to pop into our light‑filled conference room (it has a coffee machine that actually works!). Outside of that, we rely on
Miro
,
Slack
, and
Microsoft Teams
for real‑time collaboration. All documentation lives in
Confluence
, version‑controlled via
Git
when needed, and we use
Azure Boards
to keep the backlog transparent to everyone, including our external partners in
Jamestown, New York
.

A human moment
> “I still remember the morning when a production manager from a client in
Jamestown, New York
sent a blurry photo of a control‑panel layout. Within two hours, my junior analyst and I sketched a wireframe in
Balsamiq
, added it to the backlog, and had the engineering lead confirm feasibility. By Friday, we’d delivered a functional spec that saved the client three weeks of rework. That’s the kind of rapid, collaborative problem‑solving that keeps me excited every day.”
