Your New Career – The Role: As a Flight Leader, you are the 'liaison' between the flight deck and the cabin crew. You are responsible for the 'overall performance' of the inflight team. You will lead the pre-flight briefings, assign crew duties, and 'mentor' junior flight attendants. Your role is especially critical on 'wide-body, international' flights, where you oversee a large crew and a 'multi-cabin' service (Delta One, Premium Select, Comfort+, Main Cabin). You are the 'go-to' person for all 'passenger escalations', medical emergencies, and security procedures. Your schedule will be based on seniority and will include 'day shift', 'night shift' (long-haul), 'weekend shift', and holiday flying. The Training – Your Foundation for Success: Qualified candidates (typically 'experienced Delta Flight Attendants' or those with 'equivalent external lead/purser experience') will undergo a specialized 'Flight Leader' (Purser) training program. This 'paid, advanced' training focuses on:

A Day in the Life – What to Expect: Your day as a Flight Leader is one of 'high responsibility'.

• 'Pre-Flight:' You'll report to the ATL crew room 'earlier than the rest of the crew'. You'll review the flight plan, crew list, and 'premium passenger manifest'. You will lead the 'crew briefing', ensuring all crew members are 'fit for duty', informed, and clear on their roles.
