FP&A Senior Analyst (Financial Planning and Analysis)

About the position We are seeking a talented individual to join our Insights Center team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in Lisbon. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. The Insights Center supports the UK and Europe Finance teams for Mercer and Marsh. This role will be mainly focused on supporting either continental European teams or the UK's FP&A activity. We will count on you to: Analyze basic financial data and quantitative analyses, in order to support sound and defensible recommendations; Review and conduct simple analysis of financial planning information and reports, and make recommendations for changes to management; Conduct basic audit activities, in order to comply with requirements; Maintain best practices policies, in order to maintain compliance with regulatory standards; Communicate with management on a consistent basis, to ensure sound fiscal management; Assist in the month end close process by preparing recurring/standard and ad hoc reports, researching general ledger activities and variances to budget and prior year; Evaluate financial plans by identifying financial outcomes and potential returns; Assist in the development of budgets and quarterly forecasts; tracks and reports initiatives; Prepare financial planning information and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends; Improve financial planning job knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of relevant business experience
  • Fluent English level (C1/C2)
  • Ability to understand and articulate financial impact or decisions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Show initiative and contribute to a continuous improvement environment
  • Proficient in MS Office, Advanced Excel (manipulate big data) and PowerPoint
  • Highly proficient in data analysis and data extraction and manipulation
  • Comfortable presenting to regional team members, able to appropriately challenge the team
  • Proven track record of delivering to deadlines
  • Active team player with the ability to work across geographies
  • Be open for new challenges and willing to undertake additional responsibilities

Nice-to-haves

  • Have experience within a Finance department of a multinational firm
  • Positive attitude and ability to adapt to an ever changing environment
  • An aptitude towards systems and technology
  • Experience using BI tools and Oracle
  • Must be able to multi-task, to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
