[Remote] Solution/Data Architect (Hands-On Data Focused)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Sectech Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Data Architect/Solution Architect hybrid to lead the design, integration, and transformation of their finance data ecosystem. This hands-on technical role will influence ERP replacement, data fabric modernization, and financial reporting transformation.
Responsibilities
- Support and eventually backfill the Finance Data Architect for:
- Semantic models for finance reporting
- Future Enterprise Data Warehouse
- ERP replacement program
- Design and refine backend finance data models, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and scalability
- Understand and model financial structures including general ledger, chart of accounts, insurance & reinsurance data, and accounting flows
- Ensure finance data is usable for reporting, forecasting, and regulatory purposes
- Lead integration design across SAP, Workday, data fabric, and downstream applications
- Define and optimize end-to-end data pipelines and transformation flows
- Understand how financial data aggregates through the data pipeline - and how this differs across policy, reinsurance, actuarial, and finance processes
- Contribute to re-architecting legacy applications as part of broader modernization efforts
- Recommend integration patterns (APIs, events, fabric links, batch pipelines), explaining technical trade-offs
- Produce high-quality architecture deliverables including solution diagrams, data flow maps, and integration blueprints
- Partner with engineering, cloud, and data teams to drive design decisions
- Support cloud migration initiatives through data flow mapping and integration guidance
- Communicate architecture options clearly, presenting pros/cons to technical and business audiences
- Participate in business architecture discussions where process and data intersect
- This role is not purely conceptual - you will perform real technical work, including:
- Building and validating data models (logical & physical)
- Developing or supporting data pipelines and data migration workflows
- Creating BI-ready structures and supporting reporting teams
- Drafting migration path documentation, field mappings, and sequencing plans
- Troubleshooting integration and data quality issues alongside engineering teams
Skills
- Finance and/or Insurance Domain Experience is essential
- Deep hands-on data expertise
- Strong solution architecture capability
- Solid understanding of financial systems and accounting data

- Knowledge of Workday integrations
- Experience with general ledger migration projects
- Understanding of insurance and reinsurance accounting principles
- Direct experience with data fabric concepts, data virtualization, and enterprise data integration
- Comfortable designing end-to-end integration architecture
- Ability to explain how data moves, transforms, aggregates, and is governed
- Experience building or maintaining data pipelines (cloud or on-prem)
- Ability to create data flow diagrams and migration plans
- Familiarity with BI tools and reporting structures
- Strong documentation and architectural communication skills
- Comfortable working with system owners, business SMEs, and finance leadership
- Able to translate business requirements into technical design
- Strong cross-functional team engagement
