Job Summary

As a Customer Service/Sales Representative at blithequark, you will be responsible for providing fast, friendly service to our customers, assessing their needs, and providing assistance to drive sales growth. You will learn about our products and services, and use this knowledge to recommend and close sales. You will also be responsible for maintaining the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring a safe and clean shopping environment, and working collaboratively with your department supervisor and other associates to achieve sales goals.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide exceptional customer service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance

  • Learn about products and services using our tools and provide information to customers to drive sales growth
  • Greet, qualify, recommend, and close sales with customers in assigned departments
  • Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring a safe and clean shopping environment
  • Work collaboratively with department supervisor and other associates to achieve sales goals
  • Participate in sales training and development programs to enhance sales skills and knowledge
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to drive repeat business and referrals
  • Stay up-to-date on product knowledge, industry trends, and competitor activity to provide expert advice to customers

Essential Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred

  • 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience in a retail or sales environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm
  • Basic math skills and ability to handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience in a sales or customer service role in a retail or sales environment

  • Knowledge of building materials, décor, electrical, flooring, garden, hardware, kitchen & bath, lumber, millwork, paint, plumbing, and tool rental products and services
  • Experience with sales software and technology, such as CRM systems and sales analytics tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze sales data and make informed decisions
  • Ability to work in a team environment, with a high level of collaboration and communication skills
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues in multiple languages
