Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer II on our Live Chat team, you'll be responsible for:

  • Designing, developing, and deploying scalable backend systems using Java 11 and Dropwizard framework
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize product requirements
  • Building and maintaining RESTful APIs and microservices to support large volumes of data
  • Working with Kafka to process and analyze data in real-time
  • Ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability of our systems
  • Mentoring junior engineers and influencing technical direction within the team
  • Participating in code reviews and ensuring clean, maintainable code
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • 5+ years of experience working on backend systems, preferably with a focus on analytics, data infrastructure, or reporting products
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, service-oriented architecture, and building scalable data pipelines or APIs
  • Experience with Java, Kotlin, or similar programming languages
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and bring a product-focused mindset to engineering decisions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for writing clean, maintainable code
  • Experience with AI and building AI products is a plus

  • Annual cash compensation range: $191,100 - $305,800 USD
