Job Overview

This fully remote position is ideal for a certified Pharmacy Technician with strong data entry skills, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to work independently in a tech-driven, virtual environment. As a Remote Data Entry Pharmacy Technician at blithequark, you will be responsible for accurately entering prescription details into our pharmacy management system, reviewing scanned prescription documents, and communicating with pharmacists and leads to resolve discrepancies or missing information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter prescription details into the pharmacy management system in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Review scanned prescription documents and verify medication, prescriber, patient, and insurance data
  • Communicate with pharmacists and leads to resolve discrepancies or missing information
  • Consistently meet productivity and quality benchmarks for prescription intake
  • Maintain accurate records of all data entry activity to support internal audits and compliance reviews
  • Identify and escalate potential issues, including prescription errors or insurance denials
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines and adhere to strict data privacy and remote work protocols
  • Participate in virtual team meetings, trainings, and process improvement initiatives

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCB or NHA preferred
  • 1–2 years of pharmacy technician experience required, with prior data entry experience in retail, mail-order, or long-term care settings
  • Proficiency in pharmacy software systems (e.g., QS/1, PioneerRx, FrameworkLTC, or similar)
  • Typing speed of 50+ WPM with high accuracy
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, drug names, insurance billing, and HIPAA standards
  • Excellent written communication and time management skills
  • Reliable high-speed internet and a secure, distraction-free home office setup required
  • Must be physically located in the state of Texas
